At Behold Thy Mother Ministry, our mission is to evangelize through the Marian Charismatic Spirituality, providing comprehensive support to mothers and communities, and fostering spiritual growth through the Rosary prayer and other Catholic devotions.
We aim to re-propose the good news of Jesus Christ to the world through Marian Charismatic Spirituality.
Our vision is to promote and deepen Marian devotion while providing spiritual, psycho-social, and economic support to mothers and communities, following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Our Inspiration
Hanging on the cross, moments before His death, Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved. He said to His mother, “Woman, behold thy son.” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, thy mother.” And from that hour, the disciple took her into his home (John 19:25-27).
According to St. Pope John Paul II, these particularly moving words are a “revelation scene”: they reveal the deep sentiments of the dying Christ and contain a great wealth of meaning for Christian faith and spirituality.
Rev. Fr. David Obeng Paintsil considers Jesus’ words, “Behold, thy mother,” as highly significant—an invitation to each one of us to develop a personal relationship with Mary and to carry out specific missions in her honor. This scriptural foundation inspires us to embrace Mary not only as the mother of Jesus but also as our spiritual mother, guiding us closer to her Son.
Our History
Founded by Rev. Fr. David Obeng Paintsil, Behold Thy Mother Ministry was born out of a deep desire to emulate Mary’s openness to the Holy Spirit and her unwavering faith in God’s plan. Recognizing the profound impact of Marian devotion on spiritual growth, Fr. Paintsil envisioned a ministry that combines this devotion with the dynamic experiences of the Holy Spirit characteristic of the Charismatic Renewal.
